MOBILEfax
MOBILEfax service allows user to send and receive from there mobile phone. When you
connect to this service you will be given a mobile fax number to receive faxes (Different
to you Voice number).
To send a fax simply connect your data-capable mobile phone to a laptop or PDA with a
PCMCIA card or a direct cable connection. Faxes are then sent and received the same way as
you would do from a land line modem and a desktop PC. To receive faxes you must have your
mobile phone setup, switched on and be running the relevant fax software. Maximum
transmission rate is 9600 BPS.
Here is an example setup to send and receive faxes.
My Nokia 6110 is connect to my Acer notebook via the Nokia Data Suit (Win95 only) on
COM port 2.
Or i could use my Nokia 9000 which has everything built in.
Another way to receive faxs is the FOLLOWmeFAX service which
does not need for you mobile to be setup to receive faxs.
